HIGHLIGHTS


Get ready for another exciting interactive cultural music event happening this August 2025 in one of Asia’s Premiere events places. The Asia Pacific Percussion Federation is hosting this year’s 2025 PercussionFest Hong Kong China. An immersive four-day cultural experience awaits highlighting various Percussive Musical Arts from different Southeast Asian Nations.


This year’s PercussionFest will be divided into two (2) main events namely, The 3-Day Percussion Day Camp happening on August 20-22, 2025 which will be held at The Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Wu Kai Sha Youth Village, located at No. 2 On Chun St. Ma On Shan, a spacious leisure and recreations venue that features complete facilities for our campers and participants. The venue also boasts a complete and extensive line of high-end percussion instruments readily available for fun-filled days of interactive playing and learning.


This year’s Faculty includes renowned and multi-awarded Southeast Asian Percussion Artists namely; Gip Chan from Hong Kong, Kana Omori from Japan, Ruby Salvosa from The Philippines, Satur Tiamson, Jr., a Hong Kong-based artist from the Philippines, and many more surprise guest instructors.


Featuring various hands-on workshops and classes, dive into the colorful sounds and learn more about the stories behind each and every unique percussion instruments from various nations of Southeast Asia and the Western parts of the world.


In culmination of The PercussionFest, ending with a bang and a boom, is the Mini Concert on August 23, 2025 which will be held at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Center, Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong.

MEET THE FACULTY


Founder of Gip Percisson Ensemble and an internationally well sought after orchestra percussionist, Mr. Chan has devoted his time and career honing his craft and at the same time giving back to the Hong Kong and Asia Pacific community by sharing his knowledge and skills to the younger generation of aspiring percussionists.

Joining this year's faculty once again is Mr. Saturn, a Hong Kong-based multi-percussionist from The Philippines. Saturn has been a big inspiration for both orchestra and marching band musicians all over Southeast Asia for more than a decade.

HOW TO GET HERE

We are welcoming participants from anywhere in the world to come an join this year’s PercussionFest in-person.


If you’re planning to visit Hong Kong for this 4-day interactive musical experience, we have all the information you need to know on this page.


WHERE IS HONG KONG PERCUSSIONFEST HELD?

The 2025 Hong Kong PercussionFest will be held mainly at The Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong - Wu Kai Sha Youth Village located at No. 2 On Chun St., Ma On Shan, Hong Kong. This has been the home of various cultural activities hosted by The Asia Pacific Percussion Federation that boasts a complete and extensive line of multiple high-end percussion showcase in our studio.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE/DEPART?


FOR FULL PARTICIPANTS (STAY-INSIDE CAMP)

For overseas guests, we suggest arriving at least 2-4 hours before the allotted time of the first day of camp on August 20th, Sunday. You wouldn’t want to miss any event, right?


For local and interstate participants that are staying in our facilities, please arrive at least 1-2 hours before.


Our team will be waiting at the reception area to assist you.

Amenities and concessionaires will be provided.


FOR FULL PARTICIPANTS (STAY-OUT, DAY CAMP ONLY)


3-Day Percussion Camp and Day Pass Holders

Please arrive at least 1 hour before the scheduled activities.


FOR SINGLE PASS HOLDERS


We highly encourage our single pass holders to arrive at least 30 minutes to an hour before the scheduled class to get better situated and meet co-participants.


ARRIVING IN HONG KONG FOR OVERSEAS VISITORS

Hong Kong takes pride in having one of the world’s top leading airports that welcomes direct flights from anywhere in the world. No matter where you’re coming from, there are various airlines that can get you here. For VISA information, kindly check your country’s listing whether you need to apply for one. But for neighboring countries in Southeast Asia such as The Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand can enjoy a visa-free visit for a limited period.


COVID RULES IN HONG KONG 2025

Good news! There are no special covid-related requirements to enter Hong Kong this year.


FOR INTERSTATE TRAVELERS


Guests can take the high-speed train from either Shenzhen North Station or Futian Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station then take MTR Tuen Ma Line to Ma On Shan Station. From the station, the YMCA Wu Kai Sha Youth Village is only a 650m walk away.
